Along with other leading professionals, Dr. Jessica Andrews-Hanna has provided tips and exercises for increasing neuroplasticity and spontaneity as we age. It has been proven that we tend to have less flexible thoughts as we age, and an increase in rigid thinking is linked to worsened mental health, so it is important to continue engaging in activities that strengthen our mental muscles of spontaneity throughout our lives.

To better allow for unconstrained thoughts to flow freely, consider participating in simple acts of free writing, daydreaming, childlike play, and practicing mindfulness - among other possible tasks.
